Stahloknir is a huge dragon with shiny steel scales. He is bulky and strong, making up for lack of dexterity with thick scales and a powerful build. His eyes are a gentle blue in spite of his otherwise terrifying visage.
It's rare to see Stahloknir in his true form. Typically he'll polymorph into a humanoid appearance to better blend in as he makes his way around town. He chooses to either appear as a drow with shoulder length white hair or as the most handsome human he's ever seen, assuming said human would no longer be alive and therefore wouldn't be using the face himself.Stahloknir was born as an iron dragon during the Age of Gold and at the tail end of the Ferrous Uprising. The iron dragons led the uprising, trying to overthrow Bahamut and establish Gruaghlothor as the ruler of all metallic dragonkind. Stahloknir's home was raided by Bahamut's forces, and they began to bring the mountain down on top of his nest. The wyrmling, Stahloknir, fled, but it was too late, he was crushed by the rubble of the mountain, crying out for Bahamut to save him. The god himself found Stahloknir's body and felt sorrow for the bloodshed between the factions. He worked with The Aeon, and brought Stahloknir back as a unique type of dragon - a steel dragon.
When he wasn't carrying out tasks for Bahamut, Stahloknir was an adventurer in his youth, keeping up the appearance of a drow to match his lover in size. Him and Kalex Radagan traveled all across Hadea, with tensions building high during the Chardalyn Crisis a little over a thousand years ago.
Stahloknir had a difficult time taking the threat seriously, still being a younger dragon at the time. He was too caught up in being happy and alive to worry about the impending danger to the continent. He had two children with Kalex: an elf named Aldernon and a dragon named Victus. All he wanted was to gather the wealth to take care of his family. At the height of the Second Chardalyn War, Kalex vanished to gather intelligence on the ultimate weapon of the opposing army: The Chardalyn Dragon. Kalex devised a plan, and he needed Stahloknir's support. When Stahloknir refused to aid him, Kalex betrayed his partner and trapped him and the disabled Chardalyn Dragon in a vault deep inside of Felsummit. Stahloknir refused to finish off the dragon, and instead tried to reach out to his sons. Victus answered eagerly, but the two dragons discovered they needed the blood of a Radagan to open the door. Aldernon ignored Stahloknir's pleas, knowing the danger that could be unleashed by the Chardalyn Dragon. Instead, he traveled to the kingdom of Ilvaluna and changed his name to Aldernon Graves. When Stahloknir learned about his grandchildren, he tried to reach out to them for aid as well. Finally, after a thousand years imprisoned, Juniper Graves arrived to free him and slay the Chardalyn Dragon. After being freed and helping Juniper get revenge on the elf that betrayed her, Stahloknir headed home to find a vastly different city from the one he left. Vicai was no longer under the reign of his former king, Augroar, but instead, the rule of elves. This bothered him little, and he began once again living his life. When the opportunity arose to participate in the Radiant Games, he partnered with Xaveria and Marshall. They lost, but Stahloknir enjoyed the festivities up until a rogue iron dragon used the games as a distraction to attack the city.Kalex Radagan and Stahloknir were lovers for decades, but that all changed when Kalex betrayed him and turned their elven son against him. Stahloknir came to be enraged with himself for not being able to hate Kalex, but his heart still longed for his partner and his family. He now looks to begin friendships anew, but will still always have a soft spot for the Radagan bloodline and his granddaughters.
At the conclusion of the Ferrous Uprising, Stahloknir was established a young knight for Bahamut. Of course, Bahamut had business to attend to in Par'Adeus, so he passed Stahloknir's supervision to the ancient golden dragon, Augroar. The king of Vicai at the time, Augroar had the authority and respect to request training to instate Stahloknir as a trainee in the royal dragon guard- a position typically reserved for the most loyal golden dragons. Stahloknir cherished his tutoring from the guard, even as many among him were wary of his iron dragon heritage. He proved to be one of the most devoted dragon warriors in the realm.
Stahloknir first appeared in The Legends of Hadea side campaign, working alongside Juniper Graves and Xruul Ironpunch to destroy the Chardalyn Dragon.
Stahloknir got his reprise in the Exogenesis campaign, joining up with the group to compete in the Radiant Games.
