Description

Jadeth is a tiefling woman with olive skin and dark hair that she wears pulled back. She dresses in dark colors with bright silver accents on her armor. Her spell focusing three-shooter revolver is typically strapped to her hip, but she is capable of pulling either the revolver or her greatsword out as her pact weapon. She often uses a human disguise to avoid the gawking eyes of the nobles that recognize her as the once Empress of Caldra. In her human disguise, she wears a weathered black tricorn hat. Her crown is usually strapped to her belt, a momento of what her life was - if only briefly.

Ferocious yet gentle, Jadeth has a reputation among all that cross her path. A savior to some, an omen to most, she seeks out opportunities to protect those around her from evil, always treading the careful line between hellish heritage and divine abilities to strike at her foes. While she typically avoids bloody confrontation these days, she isn't afraid to get her hands dirty and right the perceived wrongs of the world. When she feels threatened, the power of the a primordial heart beating within her chest ensures that everyone around her experiences the same fear.

Biography

With the God of Nightmares slain, Jadeth returned to her home country as a hero and an empress. This was the life she always thought she craved, but compared to hunting stray gods, it was far too mundane. During the day, Jadeth was a dutiful empress to her people, but at night, a human vigilante known as The Ghost haunted the Acheron undercity. Crime slowed, but never due to the trife policies she passed as a political figure. The turning point came when word of the civil war in Ilvaluna reached Caldra. Fearful and infuriated, the tieflings of her kingdom demanded Jadeth burn the site of the atrocities to the ground. Worried about innocents getting caught in the attack, Jadeth refused to send in any armies. Her advisor, Ammalia, tried to give the eridication order and send the massive Caldran army to lay waste to Arelbel, but Jadeth was able to stop the fleet in time.

Tensions rose, so Jadeth decided to abdicate her throne and give ruling authority to the Court of Stars, ending Caldra's status as an empire and refering to itself now as a nation. She promised her people that she would ensure that those guilty in Ilvaluna were brought to justice, assambling a small task force and traveling overseas. There, her and her wife rallied the people demanding fair treatment for all the kingdom's inhabitants. With her status as the heir of House Godslayer and Juno's position as the scientist that tried to save the tieflings, more and more joined the cause, finally proving a threat to the royalty of the kingdom. However, as the fight drags on, it seems that someone else may be pulling the strings on the side of the Arelbel loyalists.

Relationships

Exogenesis Party

Jadeth worked alongside the party in Amissa Aestate up until she mistook them for assassins that were trying to kill Slenderbard. Realizing her mistake, she is relieved that they can remain as allies, and feels horrible after slaughtering their party member, Stabby.

Juno

Juno and Jadeth have been married for half a decade and share an unbreakable bond. They enjoy spending time together practicing magic, studying history, and engaging in nighttime escapades to help the lay people of the world. On and off the battlefield, they compliment each other's strengths. Jadeth prefers direct confrontation and a heavy hand, while Juno backs her with quiet observation and arrows fired from the shadows. While Jadeth was the Obsidian Empress, Juno provided support as her head advisor and most reliable spy. When it became clear that someone would need to intervene in Juno's former kingdom, Ilvaluna, they made a pact to see to the death of King Thornan and freedom of the tieflings.

Slender

Slender and Jadeth's relationship has always been sibling-like, potentially stemming from Slender viewing the charismatic spellcaster in a similar light to his sibling, Nero. After Bahamut fled his lair in Mount Mythrin, Jadeth and Slender worked together to save the kobolds of Slender's tiny kingdom. They fled into the Feywild, and Jadeth ensured Slender had all the resources he would need to create a home for them and his family. In return, Slender has been attempting to gather intel and provide certain resources to the aid of the rebels in Ilvaluna - at a friendly discount, of course.
