Caito

Alive
Eladrin
Ranger - Swarmkeeper
Caito

Description

Caito is an Eladrin, changing appearance based on his mood, but he is typically seen in a bright green springtime hue. Caito is usually curious, optimistic, and prone to danger from his carefree attitude, but in rare hazes of summer's boiling heat, his mood can swing to something much more stubborn and confrontational. Caito wears traditional Eladrin garb, reflecting the seasons and connecting to the magic of nature and using it on the battlefield. He prefers to keep his distance from targets, and moves around the battlefield with an elven grace and a fey's trickery. Pinning Caito down is nearly impossible, and his cleverness ensures there is always a trick up his sleeve. The paper animals he made soon began to have a life of their own, flying around him, protecting him and following his commands. His ranger swarm has the appearance of magical origami paper dragons. The swarm, as to not block his sight all the time, sits on his body/clothes and blends in, barely noticeable for anyone until active on the battlefield.

Backstory

Caito was stranded in the Material Plane as a small child during a displacement event. A human pair found him in a forest near their village. They took him in and raised him like their own child. Thanks to that he is unlike most Fey who have very little common knowledge and behavior. Over the years he learned his foster parents trade: Papermaking and from the local hunter how to wield a bow. His natural Fey talents also became more prominent the older he got, maybe it was because of the event that got him lost but he now had the ability to teleport short ranges and in general have an affinity for displacement magic. His foster mother loved to make origami animals from leftover paper that wasn't good enough for sale. Caito shared this love but his continued handling of the paper imbued it with fey magic, changing its qualities and bringing it to life. He lived a tranquil life in that village. The most excitement he saw was when beasts attacked and he helped to defend. This garnered him the respect of the people, but not the love. Not many wanted to deal with a Fey. That's why when his foster parents died of old age nothing kept him there. He set out to sate his curiosity.
