Hadea map

The Everfrost

The Everfrost is a permanently frozen landscape that blankets the northern part of the continent of Hadea. The former king of Everwinter was said to vanish on a pilgrimage deep into The Everfrost. It is considered fully uninhabitable and nearly untraversable, so wise adventures steer clear, even if the stories of untold riches catch their attentio

The Dirge

The Dirge comet used to circle the planet for years before something knocked it from its orbit 87 years ago, causing what would have been an apocalyptic crash into the earth. Fortunately, nearby mages from Jruska and Everwinter gathered to slow the fall and prevent catastrophic surface damage. Pieces of the meteorite are estimated to have crashed as deep as 3 miles below the surface, even with the mages' work. This crater is now widely considered off limits to visitors, even if The Everheir Empire weren't such a hostile force.

Everwinter

Everwinter, not to be confused with Neverwinter, is the capital of the Everheir Empire. Very little is known about the reclusive kingdom, other than the past few decades it went from passive territory to aggresive colonizers. The soldiers of Everheir are rumored to be unkillable, since the few that find themselves in risk of defeat drink potions that cause themselves to vanish. The empress of Everwinter is known as Abzu, but her followers are very secretive, and any that escape Everheir know to lie low and not mention their past ties to the empire. Before the sudden turn in the kingdom's temperment, Everwinter housed the largest Sun Temple in Hadea.

Aero's Pass

Named after Aerotheo, a lesser god of winter. Aero's Pass is the northern passage of the Aerofel Mountains. It is a chokepoint where the Kingdom of Vicai fends off the advance of armies from Everwinter.

Tribe Frostfang

Tribe Frostfang is considered to be the only non-hostile city left in the Everheir Empire. Their allegiance is to their old king, and they strongly believe that one day he will return from the Everfrost to return the kingdom to glory. The population of Tribe Frostfang is almost exclusively snow leopard tabaxi and arctic hare harengon, as very few "hairless" races can tolerate the freezing cold, even with proper clothing.

Aerofel Mountain Range

The Aerofel moutains split the continent of Hadea from the Everfrost in the north to Cape Severance in the south. One can find small villages of Owlin and Goliaths nestled in the peaks and valleys. The tallest mountain in the range is known as Fel's summit.

Jruska

Jruska houses Vicai's most prestigious magical college. Once a military fort, the town's defenses are unmatched now that they are infused with the arcane. This serves the population well now that they face pressure from the expanding Everheir Empire to the north. The town is currently home to three archmages that serve as deans to the College of Vicai.

The Gate

The Gate is Vicai's very own portal into the Fey Wild. In an agreement with the Seelie Court, no armies are allowed near this portal, allowing fey and Hadeans to travel freely between planes. The portal only activates when the moon is full, which leads to long term camps being set up around the edges to partake in festivals each month in celebration of the portal opening. The events are known throughout the kingdom as "The Moondance Festival." Many travel to The Gate for the festival alone, with little interest in crossing over the border.

Lieth

Lieth is known as "The CIty of Luck" among other less impressive titles. There is a large halfling population in Lieth that uses their inherit luck to swindle tourists that come to partake in gambling and visits to the temple of Fortuna and great statue of the legendary golden dragon Augroar.

The Tooth

The Tooth serves as home to a large population of Aarakocra and their griffin steeds, but that isn't all the spire is known for. Complex bioluminescent caves litter the waterline, and legends tell of dragons having made their lairs deep within. The legendary treasure horde holds draw to many adventurers, but no ship has ever returned from the caves. The increased military presence from Ilvaluna in the region has led to the speculation that whatever exists inside the caves wants out.

The Tooth

Home to the famously impenetrable Felsummit Vault, Fort Felsummit's defenses are legendary across Hadea. With a mixture of highly trained soldiers, mages, and creatures brought in from the faewild, the vault has never once had a successful attempt at break in, let alone a full theft. The objects stored inside the vault at rumored to be able to end the world, but many consider that to be a myth.

Raesha Vicai

Raesha Vicai is the capital city of The Kingdom of Vicai. The city has been run by The Platinum Lord, various high elf mages, for millenia. Their rule is said to be divine right as proclaimed by the dragon god Bahamut eons ago. Raesha Vicai considers itself to be a modern Netheril, and doesn't see the irony in the statement. Their mages work closely with Mystra to protect and manipulate the weave in hopes of creating spells unlike any the world has seen. In addition to the arcane, Raesha Vicai is known for being the home of the last of the Radagan Dragon Riders and therefore houses a large population of metallic dragons that settle in the region surrounding Lake Ventis.

Valdun

Valdun is Vicai's poorest city, and the largest collection of powerful criminals on the continent. Raesha Vicai's leaders usher all of their refugees towards Valdun, not really caring about their fate once they arrive. The unluckiest of these refugees ends up dead, but many learn the ways of the undercity and take shelter in the caverns below the hardworking populace above.

Fel's Pass

Named after Feluxia, a lesser goddess of summer. Fel's Pass is the southern passage through the Aerofel Mountains. It is heavily guarded on either side by the kingdoms of Ilvaluna and Vicai, but exists mostly battle-free as the elven populations try to respect the sacred land.

Kiruna

Kiruna is the bordering city from the Kingdom of Ilvaluna with the Kingdom of Vicai, leading to high tensions in the city. The nobles do their best to avoid these worries by throwing extravagant parties in lieu of tense negotiations. Kiruna falls shorter than the eastern coasts of Ilvaluna in their technological progression, but what they lack on that front, they make up for in strong arcane presence.

Port Zerosh

Port Zerosh is the wealthy northern port of the Kingdom of Ilvaluna. Home to a diverse population, Port Zerosh specializes in all sorts of trade ranging from spices to the arcane.

Arelbel

The capital city of the Kingdom of Ilvaluna. Arelbel was where former royal scientist Juniper Graves was sentenced to death for crimes against the kingdom. Arelbel has only recently begun venturing for trade overseas in Par'Adeus. Arelbel fosters a robust population of elves and humans living in unity with magic and technology, toting itself as a beacon for inclusion- in spite of the secret crimes being committed against the dwindling tiefling population.

Clan Ferrosh

The orcs of Clan Ferrosh are considered to be quite unique. Due to centuries of being in conflict with powerful mages from The Kingdom of Vicai, they have become their own personal masters of the arcane. The once humble clan became a city of modern architecture with elements of orcish culture and design. The typical brutish populace seems to have nearly forgotten their warfaring ways to focus on knowledge and politics.

Cape Severance

Cape Severance has historically been the reason that the Elysian Empire has struggled to take lands east of the Aerofel Mountains. The waters are filled with treacherous monsters, and by now, sailors know to hug the coastlines when passing through. There are rumors that the monsters were placed there by orders of the King of Vicai to protect their lands from the rival empire.

Wisteria

Wisteria is the capital city of the young Elysian Empire. Formerly a coalition of various factions, the knights of Wisteria managed to subdue and eventually unite the forces to stand up against neigboring kingdoms to the north. While this was initially an unpopular decision by leadership in the nearby lands, soon they began to see the benefits for trade and military strength by forming an empire. Now, with recent leadership changes, Wisteria has slowed its conquest and has begun to fall back on the guidance of its well-established monster hunting group: the Gilded Watchers.

Ivorhelm

Ivorhelm is renowed across the continent for their advanced techniques in craftsmanship. The dwarven smiths that call this city home have a knack for technology, and therefore are powerful allies to the others in the Elysian Empire. The metal plated ships of Ivorhelm are unmatched on the seas, and are the only vessels strong enough to voyage near Cape Severance. In recent years, the city's miners found a new mineral deep in Mount Dunrar that defies gravity, allowing for the manufacturing of ships that can grace the skies as well as the seas.

Mount Dunrar

The city of Dunrar was the crowning jewel capital city of the dwarven kingdoms for centuries, but no one expected the formerly dormat volcano to suddenly erupt 87 years ago. Geologists attribute the collision of The Dirge meteorite to a tectonic shift that caused this eruption. Now pilgrimages are made to the site to pay respects to the thousands of lives that were lost to the plumes of ash and rivers of lava. The volcanic activity hardly deters miners, however. The plentiful ores and minerals that can be found deep under the lava chambers can make one rich... if one has the guts to head into an active volcano.

Bridgeport

Bridgeport is one of the newest settlements in The Elysian Empire. This town is where the adopted daughter of Wisterian royalty once called home. Bridgeport's branch of the GIlded Watchers are considered to be the most ruthless, and they frequenly sail into the hear of Cape Severance to "clean up" the outbreak of monsters and make the waters traversible once more.

Par'Adeus

Par'Adeaus empires

Acheron

Acheron’s central location on the continent makes for the city’s diverse culture and population. With a long dynasty of tiefling rulers and nobility, the city is known for being a hub for those looking to escape persecution. While the Caldran military rivals its neighboring nations, there has been no lack of prioritization of trade and the fine arts in the city of Acheron.

Caldra

Caldra is a kingdom on the continent of Par'Adeus, known for its dense forests, vast rivers, and wide open plains. The kingdom stretches between the Serpent's Back mountain range and the Thalassian Sea, making it an ideal location for trade and commerce. Caldra is also a hub for arts and culture, attracting artists and performers from all over the world.
