"Oh what destruction I witnessed that day, from the heavens descended a comet, leaving nothing but a smoking crater 1000ft wide where my forces once stood. Biography

Time in the army

Due to his right of nobility he started his military career as a captain of a capable squad. Though no one would openly admit it there were many remarks under hushed breaths questioning the wisdom of his father assigning him this position. Usually some one so closely related to the emperor would be granted a spurious position of command in the back line, and they would be accompanied by generals and advisors to "help" them make correct tactical decisions and keep them safe. These concerns how ever were quickly put to rest after several consecutive and successful strike mission deep behind enemy lines were on tactical objectives were completed with 0 casualties.

After a few years as a successful captain he was promoted to commander and given several teams to train and command in operations focused on launching strikes on enemies of the nation both internal and external. Within a few short decades as commander with few causalities and no failures under his belt he was promoted to general.

As a general he would always try to create strategies that would keep his sides casualties to a minimum but the much larger scale of his command and position forced him into situations where he would have to witness more and more casualties than ever before. Even so he was still able to keep his casualties much lower than the other generals and had a much higher rate of success as even the more prominent generals. This caused the some of the generals to grow jealous of his quick rise to glory and success so they banded together and started plotting his military ruin. They were able to convince his brother Emperor Ragoth to send him with nothing more than two ships and his prized Assault squad to take the inconquerable Port BattleBorn who until now had successfully fended off 5 consecutive years of siege and assaults on two fronts, stating that the port was on the brink of surrendering and that after many long campaigns his brother deserved this easy win.

Port BattleBorn

Alaster was no fool and knew he was being set up but wouldn't dare call out his brother and emperor on being fooled. so instead he had to come up with a plan. He started researching the cities customs and traditions and found in an old document they had something called the Right of the witnessing. He would tell his brother that he simply needed to borrow one of the treasures of The Obsidian Palace and he could take city in under a week without shedding a single drop of his or the ports mens blood. Ragoth agreed and Alaster set out and fulfilled his promise.

While in port BattleBorn he met a barkeep named Jerry who saw his might and ambition, and offered him the best weapon he had made to this day Skycaller. On his way out of port he saw a jewel in a temple and upon reaching out to touch it he had a gut feeling that if he attempted this it would mean an end to his life, his goals, and his ambition

The Battle Of Theed

The Theed plains was a large clearing along the river between Acheron and Knoxvile, where a small village was developing. The Baharuthians had pushed through the mountains and taken foothold in Knoxvile and Mountaisword, and had been launching attacks on Acheron from land and river using those cities as their bases of operation to send supplies to the front lines laying Siege to Acheron. The war effort took a turn in Acherons favor when general Alaster and his forces arrived. He was able to push back the Baharuthians in a month the same distance it took them four months to take.

The battle of Theed was a particular brutal one, it seemed as if it was the Baharuthians last ditch effort to hold ground, they fought tooth and nail to the death, and there was heavy losses on both sides. However Alaster was victorious, in fighting on the front lines like he always had he was able to quickly give new orders, press fleeting advantages, and boost the troops moral. This victory clearly made the Baharuth Emperor nervous as they used their greatest weapon. And as Alaster and his forces looked to the sky they saw it was ablaze, and a star was descending to destroy them. This was the most brutal battle he had ever seen and accepted this death sentence form the sky as his punishment for sending so many of his men to die. But his loyal men had other plans for their general and used the last of their magic to erects a three layered wall of force around him, ultimately saving his life. He would retire from being a general after this battle and was reassigned as lord of Ravenspurn

Ascension to the throne

His brother saw him as a decisive man of action and originally had Alaster as second in line for the throne should he die. however since the battle of Theed Alaster had been letting his own territory go to shambles, the disparity between classes grew almost daily in ravenspurn and the slums were in such a state of neglect that a plague had run through them killing a large portion of the cities population. so instead Jadeth The Godslayer was set as next in line and Alaster second incase something happened to her.

Happen to her something did. An explosion devastated the obsidian palace killing Ragoth, Tristia, Lunara, and several servants and guards. Jadeth ran away and was rumored to be the cause of the explosion so she fled. until her return Alaster was designated emperor regent until her return and trial. However with her being on the run for so long, Alaster grew accustom to the perks, power, and responsibilities of emperor, and was able to pronounce her a traitor who was dangerous enough to warrant execution on sight. A few years later he would change his mind for seemingly no reason and instead issue a massive bounty for her capture alive and well.

End Of Reign

Alaster having sowed so much discourse in his time as emperor. Although some internal factions were ferociously loyal towards him, he had many more enemies both inside and outside Caldra. With the support of many of his political and personal enemies, his niece Jadeth with considerable planning was able to launch a successful but hard fought coup ending both his reign as emperor and his life
