With the A’Halon-11 finishing its launch sequence, the Shadow Prophets are blasted into space and rapidly accelerate towards an unknown destination. Xaveria runs forward in an attempt to stop the vessel while Dreamer reads off different screens, coming up blank on how to power down the spelljammer. While they attempt this, Klernt hears a whisper coming from Anum, Nil Aternox’s parasitic Ashavaran ally.
As Klernt reaches out, Anum latches onto him and fuses their minds with the intention of finishing what Nil started. Klernt turns on the party, blasting firespells at the already injured team. Xaveria rushes from the front of the ship and begs for Cal to help her stop the raging goblin. As Xav grabs Klernt, Anum uses his hivemind abilities to take control of Calliope’s parasite, effectively turning her against the others as well. The groups skirmish, and Xaveria is finally able to end it all by throwing her spear Perdition at Klernt and releasing his mind from the parasite’s control.
Calliope quickly draws a spell circle, with both Stabby and Dreamer managing to get on her nerves in the process. Then, without further ado, the gang teleports out of the ship and to Cal’s old hideaway in the Feywild on the shores of the Glimmering Sea. After a split decision, Vesk remains trapped in Dreamer’s bag, much to Cal’s dismay. She storms off (lol) giving the group time to settle in and remove the threats of the area. As night falls, Cal confronts Nero with a missing person poster, accusing them of working with the infamous slaver known as Cassian Grimlock. Nero reveals that they were actually one of Cassian’s slaves, and Cal immediately steps off.
Morning comes, and a group of fey soldiers arrive at the beach, shaken and injured, saying that the town they were protecting was attacked by a storm dragon. The group heads into the burning town, finding an old woman who begs them to save her son since she only had time to sace her cat. They burst into the building, distraught to find an ogre snacking happily on an elven corpse.
Once the ogre is dispatched, Dreamer, Xav, and Cal begin searching for other survivors while Stabby and Klernt confront the old woman. The women and Dreamer find a changeling child frantically stabby a corpse of one of Cal’s old friends, so she fires an attack at them – injuring Dreamer in the process. The child seems unphased by the attack, shrugging off the hit like it was nothing. He slowly turns around, eyes gleaming and wildly smiling as he growls, “eladrins.”
