Exogenesis

Session 4: The Radiant Games

During session 4, you visited magic tattoo parlor and got some fresh ink. After that, you made your way back to the dragon bar of Vicai to find a gathering of dragons. Xaveria tried and failed again to handle her liquor, which caused a number of the dragons to begin gossiping. Charlie offered some apology gifts and begged the group to try their best to keep a low profile and avoid the spotlight.

Xaveria gets a heads up from her voices that a spy is stalking them, and an owlin descends from the ceiling to slice apart Tungsten’s wiring with expert precision. Xaveria recognizes the owlin as Gwinlyn Silentfeather, an ex-assassin that she helped escape from Wisteria on the night she was arrested. Gwinlyrn reassures Xav that she had her back in taking out “Scope,” not being able to fully distinguish Tungsten from the dangerous Everheir warforged with the railgun arm.

Xav explains the misunderstanding and Gwinlyn apologizes, letting Xav know Tungsten can be repaired- though it may take some time. While this is happening, The Accountant and Dreamer begin chatting up an ambitious gold dragon in a human form named Strata Regala. She is intrigued by the Accountant’s ability to stomach the fire ale, and offers to become his partner for the Radiant Games. Dreamer lies that he serves Bahamut, and that seems to please her as well.

Xav sees their success in getting a dragon to join them and asks Gwinlyn to spar with her. The rogue proves no match for Xav and it catches the attention of the unique knight dragon, Stahloknir. With Tungsten out of commission, Gwinlyn reluctantly joins Xaveria’s team for the games.

The rider battles run smoothly; all of you are able to progress to the semifinals. Xaveria wipes the floor with Dreamer, and Gwinlyn feigns a dramatic end when it becomes apparent she can’t fight the Accountant without her element of surprise. The Accountant and Xaveria get ready to duel in the finals.

The Accountant gets a good lead, with things only becoming interesting when Row swoops in to help Xaveria hit him. Once she’s able to break his concentration, the tide of battle quickly turns in her favor. She’s badly injured, but manages to knock him. However, as he goes down, his god intervenes in a burst of flaming energy to knock Xav as well. Xaveria is able to hang on slightly longer to win the match.

You all head out to watch another match, but it becomes evident that something is wrong when one of the contenders that dies isn’t revived. Worried chatter begins among the crowd, so you all quickly head back to the airship for the night. When Dreamer goes to bed, he’s woken by Casper, who’s pacing anxiously around the room- glowing red.
