With everyone back in the present, they begin flying the airship towards Mount Dunrar where another Spirit Cage was possibly located. Charlie stays behind in Clavignon, citing that she can catch up by teleporting to the magic circle on the airship and would like to gather intel while so close to The Everheir Empire while her spy is away. This proves to be a problem however, since the airship gets intercepted by Wisterian forces that assume the Shadow Prophets stole the vessel and kidnapped Lady Charlotte. They get into a skirmish, with Ren begging the group not to kill anyone since its a misunderstanding. Stabby has no reason to abide by that rule, so he immediately snipes a guard.
The fight is interrupted when the iron dragon Feraghast attackes the airships and knocks theirs our of the sky before flying off into the night. J.J. Tinklebottom (newns) saves Marge, the other crown guard, who apologizes for her haste when Charlie returns. Charlie is frustrated that the airship is now just a ship when they crash-land in the middle of Cape Severance – a sea notoriously infested with monsters. Something large moves underneath the ship. A handful of Kua-Toa slavers emerge from the water and begin trying to taunt the group, and mostly, Marshall, one of the tritons that escaped from their clutches.
