The attacking Kua-toa call in waves of Tritons to aid them as they attack the waterlogged airship. Charlie rushes downstairs to patch the hole in the side, while the Shadow Prophets fight off the horde. Stabby vanishes, taking shots from the shadows, Sky demonstrates her mastery of storm spells, Seraphim stands on the front line, and J.J. puts on a show with his musical magic. Together they make quick work of the Kua-Toa, but a kraken emerges to try to sink the ship. It takes a while, but eventually they start using the upgraded cannons on the ship to slay the kraken. One final Kua-Toa yells at Marshall that they haven’t seen the last of each other, before swimming back into the depths.
With the threat neutralized, they sail towards Mount Dunrar, with Sky eagerly anticipating her return to her home in the Underdark via the passages in the volcano. They rescue a man overboard who turns out to be Klernt (not to be confused with Klenrt), Sky’s gnomish butler. He is relieved to find the ship, and confused as to why Sky told him to go swim out into the Cape until he drowned. Sky admits she hadn’t told him to do that – at least not yet. There is a bit of confusion until Ren admits that he may known what the issue is, Sky was replaced with a dopppleganger- a vampire changeling named Nil Aternox. Most troublesome of all, she seems to be using Sky’s appearance to gather powerful spell components at her home, The Crimson Sanctuary.
